Primary areas of interest are mass media in a democratic society; information technology; communications management. During academic year 1999-2000, Professor Berry was named recipient of the distinguished Fulbright Scholar award and lectured and conducted research in the Dominican Republic at Pontificia Universidad Catolica Madre y Maestra in Santiago, and was Visiting Scholar in Residence at the International Education Resource Center at Universidad APEC in Santo Domingo. In Spring 2000, he received a University of Illinois campus-wide award in recognition of exemplary performance as a teacher of undergraduate students in the College of Communications.
