The Latina/Latino Studies Program (50% appointment) and the Department of Sociology (50% appointment) at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign announce a joint position for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor. Candidates must hold a PhD by the starting date of August 16, 2008, preferably with a research focus in at least one of the following areas: gender, family, race/ethnicity, and inequality. Candidates must have a demonstrated scholarly background in Latina/Latino Studies. Salary is competitive.
Candidates must have clear promise of developing a distinguished record of undergraduate and graduate teaching and research. The Latina/Latino Studies Program and the Department of History at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign invite applications for a full-time tenure track appointment at the Assistant Professor level in Latina/Latino Studies and History to begin August 16, 2008. Preference will be given to candidates with an exemplary record of research in 19th and 20th Century Mexican American and/or Chicana/o history. This will be a joint appointment 50/50 between Latina/Latino Studies and the Department of History.
Successful candidates will be expected to demonostrate excellence in teaching, and to participate in curriculum development in LLSP and History. A Ph.D. by the time of appointment is required.
